Your colour selection meeting

Our appointment is for 2 hours. If you think you may need a longer appointment for larger homes or more complex designs, please discuss this when booking.
We meet at the display home in the colour selection studio.
Here we have access to view all standard items, and a limited range of upgraded options.

Bring all resources like photos, samples and ideas.
If possible, it is recommended to leave small children at home to allow you to focus all your attention on your selections.
During your colour selection meeting, any upgrades requested will be noted, and sent to your contract administrator to price.
Any items that are yet to be finalised will be marked for you to follow up, as required.

Once we complete our selections, any changes will be managed by your contract administrator.

If you require a follow up appointment, or additional support, this can be arranged for an additional fee.

Tips for being prepared
-
Understand your home
Make yourself familiar with your facade, design and standard inclusions.
Any design, facade or plan/ layout changes should be incorporated prior to your appointment.

-
Understand your budget
Understand how much wiggle room you have to move for things you might want to change or upgrade
Consider key areas that you may like to upgrade, investigate costs prior and have a back up option should your first choices be beyond your budget

-
Bring ideas
Put together a collection of images and ideas that inspire you. Pinterest is a great source of inspiration, and an easy way to collate groups of pictures for each space.
Have a couple of key images for each area such as exterior, kitchen, bathrooms and any other feature areas.

-
Visit showrooms and websites of key suppliers
Big ticket items like bricks and flooring, visit showrooms and collect samples to bring along.

Key areas to consider

Exterior
It may sound silly, but often in the excitement of the interior choices, this is an area that can be overlooked in planning.
Consider the style, finishes, and the overall appearance of your exterior, and get visit showrooms of suppliers for items such as bricks and stone.

Kitchen & bathrooms
The key areas of any home and often one of the major places to where upgrades are added. Its also one of the major areas that set the style for the overall home. Pictures are important to help communicate your ideas.
Consider style, finishes, appliances, fixtures and fittings and investigate the cost of any potential upgrades.

Fixtures and Fittings
The finishing touches to key areas like kitchens and bathrooms, the colour and style of fixtures and fittings can really transform a space and set it apart.
Generally, these are a standard package, and can be seen at the display home. However, if you are wanting to look at alternative styles, products and coloured finishes, a visit Reece Bathrooms is recommended.

Tiling
Tiling can have a huge impact on the overall finished appearance, feel and function of your home. Its also a very permanent element and something that isn't easy to upgrade later down the track. For any potential choices outside the standard range, a visit to the tile supplier showroom is recommended.

Floor finishes
Floor finishes have the ability to completely transform the feel of your home. These can also be hard to view in small samples to get a sense of the overall affect. The colour selection studio only has standard options available. If you are considering options outside standard, you will need to visit the suppliers showroom prior.

Wall Colour
Paint colour is one of the most important aspects that contribute to the overall feel of your new home.
When selecting colours, they will generally feel darker on the walls than in a swatch. Consider any undertones and how that works with your overall feel you are creating (eg. warm, cool, bright, cosy).
If possible, get a sample pot of favourite colours, paint larger samples and test in different areas with different levels of artificial and day light.
